Jax Kokuryo &
Mike Wong

Jax and Mike's Story

Jax draws inspiration from people on the streets wherever she goes, but is most compelled by neighbourhoods in East Vancouver and Burnaby Heights. Her style could be described as human-centred, layered and emotive. She uses street photography as a vehicle for community engagement and service, and prefers to save the drama for her photos.

As a civil designer and drafter, Mike Wong was naturally drawn to photography. Inspired by the likes of Vivian Maier, Fred Herzog and William Eggleston, Mike seeks beauty in details while documenting everyday life.
