Donna's Story
Donna Konstantin grew up in Yugoslavia and immigrated to Canada in 1993. She is an artist, a writer and a poet. She creates acrylic and oil paintings that capture colour and vibrancy for people who love nature, adventure and scenes from West Coast as well as from around the world. She is inspired by the vast beauty of nature around her home in BC and around the world that she has been able to see through her travels.
The vast and colourful heritage of Donna’s old European homeland gave her the basis of who she is today and living in Canada has enriched her vision. Her background is in engineering yet she perceives these different interests not only as related but also as highly connected in the deepest sense.
As an Exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a member of the Burnaby Artists’ Guild, New West Artists and other Metro Vancouver guilds and clubs, she has been exhibited locally in several group and few solo exhibitions.
Donna’s goal as an artist is to tell you what she sees and feels through paint. Her paintings are created as an expression of the inner resonance of her outer world. She uses acrylic and oil as mediums and expresses herself through a style that stems from her love for impressionism and an awe for the old masters.
She loves the challenge of learning something new and making every painting better than the last one. Luckily, art is such a vast area that no matter how much she has learned, there is always something else around the corner waiting for her to grasp it. She enjoys this lively journey happy to have art in her life, and if you can find in her paintings even a part of beauty, joy, sensitivity or emotions that she was trying to convey to canvas, she will consider herself successful.
