Emily's Story
I am a Metis woman, a mother, a published author, and an artist.
I grew up in the Fraser valley and Hope areas. At 21, I moved to Vancouver to pursue film and cooking and then later settled into Burnaby after having children.
As a young adult I experienced severe trauma and I have used art as a conduit to my healing and growth as a person through many mediums, but am very new to being public as an artist.
Love, rather than empathy, is the spark that truly ignites creativity.
I’m drawn to the beauty in everyday moments and overlooked details. My art explores themes of family trauma, motherhood, self-encouragement, interpersonal connections, love, and nature.
Through my work, I hope to inspire joy, love, and reflection in the heart of each person experiencing my art.
