Kalyan's Story
Kalyan Rath is a 17-year-old artist based in Vancouver, Canada.
From a young age, he started singing in a choir, which sparked his love for music. Kalyan sang with the Fort Bend Boys Choirs for four years in Houston, Texas. When he moved to Vancouver, Canada, at the age of 10, He sang with the British Columbia boys choir for two years, with the highlight being he sang the national anthem on Canada day at parliament hill.
At 14, he discovered Garage Band on his mom’s laptop and has not turned away since, progressing through multiple DAWS. He was accepted into the Burnaby School District music production program, where he was mentored and taught by his teacher Kevin Ault. Thanks to the two years he was in the program, Kalyan got the mentoring and knowledge he needed to progress in his skill and decide to commit to higher education. His time in the program helped him accomplish many things.
Kalyan is the host of a radio show called “vibe check” live on CJSF 90.1 FM; he worked on over 100 songs, including three of his own, creator of the sunny side song camps. Kalyan strives to work hard, to prioritize, and to learn from his mistakes. He understands that although life is full of roadblocks, his determination and hard work will help him achieve his goals.
