Olivia and Sue — A Poem

Sue From

One day I said the time is now
Declutter stuff that means no how…
But then I saw some art I had
In the attic, no meaning for me I said
I bought it years ago for the frame
Never used – but below,I saw a name
Olivia – 1998 she was 8 years old
Thought if my kid, wouldn’t want it sold!
But saved as a memory from years gone by
The rocketship and family up in the sky
And so I searched and had no luck
But got help “sharing” and found a touch
Her home is back east but the story was clear
When we met in May and got to hear
Many smiles and a happy day
I found you so thankful what can I say
I’m glad we connected and shared a lot
32 years between us but same area we were taught
By sharing Media and friends alike
Found each other – happy – not oh yikes!
So glad I searched and she was found
The Artist who touched my heart around
It was drawn in an art class in 1998
Displayed on airport walls ’til they left the Gates
Don’t know where they went or what they did.
Stored in a locker or if just hid
Glad I found her and gave it back
Childhood memories “Olivia unpacked”
