Irish Storyteller

Philomena's Story

Philomena personifies the Irish Gift for telling stories, reciting poetry and spontaneous singing.

She was born into a large family on a small farm in the West of Ireland. She grew up in an atmosphere rich in the Gaelic culture and traditions of the Irish Countryside.

When she came to Canada she found a way to keep this rich culture alive and stay connected to her Irish Roots by sharing these wonderful stories, songs and poetry with audiences of all ages. With a warm Irish lilt Philomena breathes new life, infectious energy and inspiration into traditional Irish Tales.

She has entertained audiences in Schools, Seniors’ Homes and in Libraries, at Storytelling Festivals and on Television. A highlight was at the very popular Irish House set up in Vancouver during the 2010 Olympics.
