Sana's Story
Sana Goel is an arts and culture worker and emerging artist based in Burnaby. She recently completed a degree in Visual Arts at Simon Fraser University, along with a minor in Publishing. Her interests include exhibition-making, visual communication, and community-based arts programming.
Sana currently works at the Ferry Building Gallery in West Vancouver, where she supports exhibitions and programming through installation and takedown, assists with communication and social media, and engages directly with exhibiting artists and the public. Across her work, she is interested in how galleries and cultural events create points of connection between artists, institutions, and audiences.
Sana’s artistic practice explores the interplay of past, present, and future through an interdisciplinary approach, and she works across mixed media, cyanotype, and other materials. Outside the gallery context, she also experiments with hands-on creative projects, like custom press-on nails, to explore texture, materials, aesthetics, and self-expression.
Sana Goel is an interdisciplinary artist who explores the world through an artistic lens, interpreting identity, culture, and the fluid nature of everyday life. Drawing inspiration from her Indian heritage and the constantly evolving world, she blends traditional and contemporary aesthetics to create works that engage and resonate with diverse audiences.
A central theme in Goel’s practice is temporality and the interconnectedness of past, present, and future, inviting audiences to consider their own connections to time and change.
Her practice spans diverse techniques, with a particular focus on mixed media, cyanotype, and experimental textures. These mediums are used to craft layered, tactile works that examine the interplay of form, materiality, and meaning. Through this approach, Goel seeks to push the boundaries of creative expression and invite viewers into thoughtful engagement with the work.
